“Green Expressions”: Artistic Contest Exhibition on the environment
Theme :“The Wonders of Nature in Lebanon”; Let us protect our environment
Purpose :
- Concerning people with special needs and the public :
1- To spread an environmental awareness message
2-To motivate people with special needs to conduct researches about the environment and motivate them to organize future environmental projects
3- To promote the talents of people with special needs in the media and give them the opportunity to exhibit their work in UNESCO, the cultural magnet owned by the Ministry of Culture.
- Concerning the Rotaract Club of Beirut: Be familiar with:
1- How to serve and deal with people with special needs
2- How to plan and organize a contest
3- How to write official letters and deal with sponsors, associations and media
Date : 11 th, 12 th and 13 th of June
Opening hours : From 18:00 till 22:00
Place : UNESCO Palace
Attendees : 50 persons (10 rotaractors)
Participants : 203 participants from 11 associations:
- Al Hadi Institution for Deaf and Blind – Beirut
- Arc en ciel - Beirut, Akkar, Bekaa, Chouf
- IRAP: Institut de Rééducation Audio-Phonétique – Ain Aar
- L’association de l’écoute - Beirut
- Lebanese Autism Society - Beirut
- LDSA: Lebanese Down Syndrome Association - Beirut
- LPHU: Lebanese Physical Handicapped Union – Beirut – Saida – Nabatiyyeh – Machghara – Bar Elias
- Local Council for the Welfare of the Handicapped – Beirut
- Oum El Nour Association for Rehabilitation and Drug Prevention – Zouk Mekael
- Sesobel – Service Social pour le Bien- Etre de L'enfant - Aintoura
- The Divine Providence Center - Zgharta
Details :
- A jury voted for the best twelve projects
- Opening Ceremony with sponsored catering (Patisserie Exotique)
- The president of the Rotaract Club of Beirut speech; the ministry representative speech
- Award distribution to the first twelve winners.
- Exhibition for 3 days open to the public & media
Media:
- Posters hanging and pamphlets distribution including the details of the projects and an overview on Rotary and Rotaract
- Press releases in L’Orient LE JOUR
Expenses:
- 125 $ for printing materials: 500 posters, 1000 pamphlets, 250 certificates (sponsored by Arab Printing Press)
- 165$ for caps that was distributed to all the participants
- 100 $ to buy 9 gifts
Special remarks:
- This event was organized on the occasion of The World Environment Day, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Environment and in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Beirut
- The Rotary Club of Beirut offered 250 $ and 100 key chains for the participants and associations
- The company of M. Bechara Haddad offered 300 pens for the participants and associations
- The Lebanese Canadian Bank offered 1000 $ that the Rotaract Club of Beirut distributed to the participants:
1 st prize: 500$; 2 nd prize: 300$; 3 rd prize: 200 $
- Winning artworks will be reproduced to promote environmental awareness. The name of the winners will be included on any reproduction
